Former LSU football tackle lands at old SEC West rival

Former LSU football true freshman offensive tackle Tyler Miller has committed to Mississippi State, according to On3 Sports. He has four years of eligibility remaining.
Miller was a four-star recruit in LSU’s 2025 recruiting class, ranked the 22nd-best offensive tackle available by 247Sports. He didn’t take a snap for the Tigers in 2025, and given the talent deficiencies along the Tigers’ offensive line this year, he was unlikely to see much of the field next season.
Losing Miller wouldn’t be a major issue if LSU hadn’t already lost so many offensive linemen to the portal. They’ve signed three, but Miller brings the Tigers’ offensive line departures to seven. The portal isn’t open for much longer, and Lane Kiffin and his staff will need to make some aggressive moves to sign both starters and depth pieces before time runs out.
There are a few top-ranked transfers who have yet to commit to a school, such as Colorado’s Jordan Seaton and South Carolina’s Josiah Thompson. There’s also a chance more could enter the portal — particularly from recently eliminated playoff teams. Either way, LSU’s new offensive line coach, Eric Wolford, will have his hands full getting his unit up to speed ahead of the 2026 season.
