Arkansas quarterback Trever Jackson has signed with Coastal Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He began his career at Florida State.

Jackson redshirted as a true freshman during the 2024 season while at Florida State. He entered the transfer portal after the season and landed at Arkansas. He’d made one appearance and attempted one pass while with the Razorbacks.

After moving on from the ACC and now the SEC, he’ll now look for a fresh start in the Sun Belt at Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers are coming off a 10-3 season, which included a 6-2 record against the conference finishing second in the Eastern division to James Madison.

Before college, Jackson was a three-star recruit according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 621 overall recruit in his class and the 41st-ranked quarterback.

He’s leaving an Arkansas team that finished 2-10 during the 2025 season. The Razorbacks began the year with a 2-0 record before losing its last 10 games of the season to round out the season.

Former head coach Sam Pittman was fired after a 2-3 start, and Bobby Petrino took over as interim headman. Former Memphis coach Ryan Silverfield was named head coach shortly after the season concluded and will now be tasked with turning around a program that has missed the postseason in six of the last nine years.

However, Jackson won’t be around for that. Instead, he’s moving on to his third school in three years of college football. He’ll look to make the most of his chance in Conway.

He is the fourth player to commit to Coastal Carolina since the NCAA transfer portal opened on Jan. 2, joining WR Tristian Gardner and DLs Ahmad Pool and Donovan Grayson. The portal closes after 15 days on Jan 16.
