Michigan State football is one of 10 schools still in the running for a big-time in-state prospect in the 2028 class.

Tyler Trusel of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. announced his top 10 schools list earlier this week, with the Spartans making the cut. According to a social media post from Trusel, Michigan State was joined on his top 10 list by North Carolina, Kentucky, Iowa State, Arkansas, Arizona State, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Michigan and Kansas.

Trusel is listed as an athlete for Michigan high school powerhouse Brother Rice. He is rated as a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 88 on 247Sports. He is ranked as the No. 31 athlete in the country and No. 7 player from Michigan in the 2028 class.

Michigan State extended an offer to Trusel last September and is one of more than 30 schools to offer him, according to 247Sports. Along with offers from his other finalists, he also holds notable offers from Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Louisville and Maryland.
