Auburn football's recruiting efforts for the 2026 high school cycle and the transfer portal are dwindling, and the Tigers' coaching staff is quickly working towards building a respectable 2027 haul. Alex Golesh is off to a great start in his efforts by reeling in the pledge of a talented tight end.
Tank Proctor, a three-star tight end from Plantation, Florida, announced Monday that he has committed to Auburn. Proctor holds offers from several Power Four programs and chose Auburn over the likes of Florida, Miami, Florida State, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. His commitment comes after visiting Auburn for Junior Day over the weekend.
In an interview with Rivals/On3, Proctor says Auburn's new coaching staff re-offered him and has been in constant communication with him, which is what separates Auburn from other programs in his recruitment.
“Definitely great for them to reach out to me. It differentiates them from a lot of other schools," Proctor said. "I have a lot of offers from a lot of schools, but I don’t have frequent communication with them, so that really shows me who I really like and who wants me other than who offers me just to offer me.”
Proctor is Auburn's first commitment for its 2027 class, which moves the Tigers to No. 51 in 247Sports' recruiting rankings. Since the 2027 cycle is in its early stages, Proctor has not received an official ranking yet. However, he is classified as a three-star tight end.
