The Oregon Ducks will be back in action after their bye week on Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes in what has become an increasingly intriguing game as the week has gone along.

On Tuesday night, the first College Football Playoff rankings were released, with the Ducks occupying the No. 9 spot and the Hawkeyes coming in at No. 20 after being unranked in the AP Poll.

An extremely physical team, Iowa will give Oregon all it can handle in addition to having the home-field advantage that Kinnick Stadium represents.

With four regular-season games remaining, it may take head coach Dan Lanning‘s squad four wins to appear in the CFP, considering their lower than expected spot in the debut rankings despite having just one loss on their resume. While it helps that three of their final four opponents (USC and Washington along with Iowa) are ranked, the Playoff Committee is lower than consensus on the Ducks.

The stretch run begins on Saturday against the Hawkeyes, in what should be a hard-fought battle — regardless of who comes out on top.
