ESPN 'College GameDay' crew makes picks for Oregon Ducks vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

Earlier in the year, Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks established themselves as one of the darling teams of the nation, taking down the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road in double overtime, staking their claim as one of the best teams in the country. Since that Week 5 victory, though, the nation seems to have cooled on Oregon a bit.

Part of that is due to the loss at home to the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers, and part of it has to do with Oregon's rather lackluster style of winning over the past couple of weeks. Regardless of the reasoning, the Ducks are being somewhat undervalued going into this weekend's top-20 showdown against the Iowa Hawkeyes on the road.

It will be a major test for both teams, and one that could set either Dan Lanning or Kirk Ferentz's squads up in a prime position to make the College Football Playoff, while a loss could be detrimental to their chances.

ESPN's College GameDay didn't make the trip to Iowa City for this game, instead traveling south to Lubbock to preview the Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. BYU Cougars matchup, but that didn't stop them from breaking this one down, and making their picks for the final outcome.

Here's a look at how all of the members of the show picked the game to play out:

Desmond Howard: Oregon Ducks

Pat McAfee: Oregon Ducks

Nick Saban: Oregon Ducks

Guest Picker Patrick Mahomes: Oregon Ducks

Kirk Herbstreit:Iowa Hawkeyes

The game between Oregon and Iowa kicks off at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC in Iowa City, IA.
