The Georgia Bulldogs won their 47th straight game against an unranked opponent inn a 41-21 road win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Georgia used a balanced offensive attack with over 250 passing yards and over 300 rushing yards to control the game against Mississippi State, who was coming off their first SEC win of the season.
Georgia running back Nate Frazier totaled 181 rushing yards and scored a career-long 59-yard rushing touchdown as Georgia moved to 8-1 (6-1 in SEC). Frazier and the Georgia offense hit on a pair of plays over 50 yards for the first time this season against Mississippi State. Wide receiver Noah Thomas scored on a 64-yard touchdown pass on Georgia’s next drive to put the game out of reach for Mississippi State.
Georgia’s defense kept Mississippi State’s explosive passing game in check and limited the other Bulldogs to just 322 total yards (many of which came with Georgia’s second-team defense in during the fourth quarter). Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton played another turnover-free game and threw three touchdown passes.
Georgia tight end Lawson Luckie left the game after taking a scary hit that was called for targeting. Luckie returned to the Georgia sideline after the game.
