The college football postseason isn't just about recruiting and the transfer portal. After all, the departing players have a future to prepare for.
Two all-star games are prominent: the East-West Shrine Bowl and the Panini Senior Bowl. And Michigan football will have eight former players participating in the two games.
The Wolverines formally announced which players will be partaking in each, with four in one and four in the other. Each will have two team captains, as well.
Max Bredeson, Giovanni El-Hadi, Jimmy Rolder, and Dominic Zvada will partake in the Shrine Bowl on Jan. 27 (today), while Marlin Klein, Derrick Moore, Jaishawn Barham, and Rayshaun Benny will be in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 31. Both will be televised on NFL Network.

The postseason all-star bowl games aren't as much about performance in the game as they are a showcase during the week for scouts to measure the players up and see how they fare in practice. It's also an opportunity for them to start the interview process with teams.
The Shrine Bowl is set to take place in Frisco, Texas this year while the Senior Bowl will continue to be held in Mobile, Alabama.
