Conner High School has announced Chase Floyd as its new head football coach.

Floyd was the defensive coordinator with the Cougars. He replaces Noel Rash, who filled in last season following the untimely death of longtime head coach Dave Trosper last summer.

Floyd brings 15 years of coaching experience to the position, serving as an assistant coach for Conner High School since 2018. A graduate of Boone County High School, Floyd played football four years at the University of Louisville, gaining valuable experience at the Division I level.

During his time at Conner, Floyd has played a key role in player development, game planning, and fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork within the program.

“Chase Floyd has consistently demonstrated leadership, commitment, and a deep understanding of what it means to be a Cougar,” athletic director Jim Hicks said in a press release. “His passion for our students, knowledge of the game, and familiarity with our program made him the clear choice to lead our football team forward.”

A respected presence among players and staff, Floyd is known for his strong work ethic, emphasis on character, and dedication to developing athletes both on and off the field. His promotion ensures continuity within the program while setting the stage for continued growth and success. He looks forward to working with the youth program and strives to continue to move the program to new heights.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as head football coach at Conner High School,” said Floyd in the press release. “This school and community mean a great deal to me, and I’m excited to continue building on the foundation we’ve established.”
