Four‑star 2027 quarterback prospect Peter Bourque announced his decommitment from Michigan on Tuesday, according to Yahoo Sports.

Bourque, a 6‑foot‑4 standout from Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, originally committed to Michigan on Aug. 11, when Sherrone Moore was still leading the program. Since Moore’s firing in December and Kyle Whittingham’s arrival, Bourque has added offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech and Washington, the latter coming less than a month before his decision to reopen his recruitment.

Whittingham, who watched the Wolverines fall 41–27 to Texas in the Citrus Bowl, has retained freshman starter Bryce Underwood but now loses one of the nation’s top young quarterbacks.
