After visiting Iowa football (6-3, 4-2 Big Ten) for their Nov. 9 clash against No. 6 Oregon (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten) from Kinnick Stadium, the Hawkeyes have offered one of Wisconsin‘s talented 2026 tight end commits, Jack Janda.

The 6-foot-6, 245-pounder out of Orchard Lake, Mich., currently stars for Detroit Catholic Central, where he ranks as a three-star and the No. 815 overall recruit, No. 44 tight end, and No. 16 prospect in the state, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

In his 14 games played for the Shamrocks over the past two years, Janda has recorded nine receptions for 200 yards and two touchdowns at tight end. Defensively, Janda has registered 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks as a defensive lineman, per MaxPreps.

While Janda is a tight end commit for Wisconsin, Iowa’s offer is as a defensive lineman. Janda also intends to visit Michigan State on Nov. 15 for the Spartans‘ matchup against the Nittany Lions.

The offer from the Hawkeyes now brings Janda’s total to 26, including fellow Big Ten foes Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, Northwestern, Purdue, Washington, and, of course, Wisconsin.

Given his large frame and considerable size, the Hawkeyes view Janda as an impactful disruptor and potential game-changing defensive threat for Phil Parker’s unit. Three-star Sawyer Jezierski is Iowa’s lone defensive line commit in the Hawkeyes’ 2026 class.
