The Miami Hurricanes are coming off of a College Football Playoff National Championship runner-up season and should expect at least a pair of first round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. That’s a lot of momentum as the 2026 season gets started on September 4th against Stanford.
On March 24th spring football practices will begin for the new look Miami Hurricanes. The ‘Canes will have to replace star power in QB Carson Beck, OT Francis Mauigoa, DE’s Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor and do-it-all DB KeionteScott.
The Hurricanes have a new starting QB in DarianMensah and he’ll have a familiar WR out wide in Cooper Barkate. It’ll be fun to watch Barkate and MalachiToney get reps with Mensah. The ‘Canes are breaking in a new starting OL with Mauigoa, Anez Cooper, Markel Bell and James Brockermeyer all off to the NFL.
On defense the ‘Canes will have to replace Bain and Mesidor and transfer DamonWilsonII should be a fun addition from Missouri. Besides OmarThornton replacing Scott the rest of the defense is returning talent from ‘25.
Mario Cristobal used the transfer portal for a new QB, the WR position and a few key additions. Other than that it’s a homegrown squad and this will be AlexMirabal’s greatest display of coaching as he’ll have developed four of five potential starts on the OL.
The ‘Canes spring football game will take place on Saturday, April 18th. No TV or locatoin has been determined that I am aware of. Stay tuned for updates!
