Florida baseball moves up in Coaches Poll after Arkansas road sweep

Florida baseball had a much-needed bounce-back this week against a pair of top-25 teams — a shutout win over the Florida State Seminoles in Jacksonville on Tuesday night, followed by a road sweep of the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville over the weekend.
It appears that the pain from the previous weekend’s sweep at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa is now well in the rearview mirror.
As a result of their recent string of success, the Gators find themselves up six spots in the latest USA TODAY Sports Baseball Coaches Poll, pulling themselves away from the edge of the top 25 up to No. 19. That puts the Orange and Blue between the No. 18 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies.
Kevin O’Sullivan’s team heads home this week to host the Jacksonville Dolphins on Tuesday night before the Ole Miss Rebels roll into town for a three-game set starting on Friday.
SEC schools in USA TODAY Baseball Coaches Poll Week 7
The Southeastern Conference saw two of its member schools jettisoned from the top 25 this week — erstwhile No. 18 Ole Miss and No. 21 Tennessee Volunteers — leaving the league with 10 teams among the top tier.
The Texas Longhorns are still the top-ranked SEC team at No. 2 overall, followed by the Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 4) and Georgia Bulldogs (No. 5), who also sit among the top 10. The Auburn Tigers (No. 11), Oklahoma Sooners (No. 15), Arkansas Razorbacks (T-No. 16), Alabama Crimson Tide (T-No. 16), Florida (No. 19), Texas A&M (No. 20) and Kentucky Wildcats (No. 22) round out the conference’s representation among the top 25.
The LSU Tigers added 54 votes to their tally this week and are the de facto No. 26 team in the poll, while the Vanderbilt Commodores earned 39. Tennessee and Ole Miss were listed on 38 and 16 ballots, respectively.
