After taking time off for spring break, the Oregon Ducks are back on the field for spring practice. Dan Lanning and his coaching staff have done a nice job recruiting new talent to Eugene, both from high school and through the transfer portal. Now, more of those recruits are beginning to suit up on campus.
On Tuesday, the Ducks announced six new additions to the roster for spring ball. Four of the new players are true freshmen, while the other two arrived via the transfer portal.
New Roster Additions
- No. 16 DB Azel Banag (Fr.)
- No. 17 DB Tre Watson (Jr., JUCO transfer)
- No. 26 RB Brandon Smith (Fr.)
- No. 51 DL Prince Tavizon (Fr.)
- No. 81 TE Dayton Raiola (Fr.)
- No. 91 DL Derrick Brown Jr. (Sr., Howard transfer)
The Ducks assigned numbers to the new players and they suited up for practice. Raiola, the younger brother of quarterback Dylan Raiola, took No. 81 from tight end Andrew Olesh, who switched to No. 86.
While the Ducks added to the roster, some valuable assets are still missing from the team. A trio of five-star recruits from Oregon's 2026 recruiting class aren't practicing yet this spring. Offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, wide receiver Jalen Lott and defensive lineman Anthony Jones are expected to join the program this summer, meaning they won't be in action for the spring game at Autzen Stadium on April 25.
