Predicting the next five Notre Dame commitments following the Fighting Irish landing four-star California defender Khalil Terry

Notre Dame football received some great news on Wednesday when 2027 Tustin (Calif.) High School safety Khalil Terry opted for the Irish over Tennessee, Oklahoma, USC, and UNC, among others. Head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish have been creating a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail over the last several weeks. This Terry commitment is expected to set off a bit of a chain reaction, and several commitments could follow.

For a little bit of fun, I decided to predict the next five commitments for Notre Dame. These selections aren’t necessarily in order, but I feel great about where things are with each of them. It is hard not to be excited about what Freeman and his staff are doing right now.

Predicting next Notre Dame commitments

CB Xavier Hasan – Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons

Things have been trending in a great direction with Hasan over the last couple of months. The 6-0, 180-pound cover man is a tremendous talent, and he would be arguably the most gifted cover cornerback that Mike Mickens would have landed. Hasan currently sits as the No. 36 overall player on the 247 Sports Composite ranking, and there is a good chance he threatens five-star status when all is said and done. Notre Dame is the clear leader right now for the North Carolina star. This feels like a matter of when, not if, at this point.

S Matt Sieg (2026) – McDonald (Pa.) Fort Cherry

While Sieg is still technically committed to Penn State right now, he is clearly keeping his eyes open for other opportunities that may be out there. That led the Pennsylvania star to visit South Bend this past weekend for Notre Dame’s game against the Navy Midshipmen. Despite the Irish already boasting an elite secondary class in 2026, Sieg is very much a player that they want. The 5-11, 190-pound athlete has the upside to play either safety spot or in the nickel as well. I like the chances for Notre Dame with Sieg.

RB Kemon Spell – McKeesport (Pa.) High School

Considered to be a five-star player in the 2027 recruiting class, Spell was previously committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Even before the firing of James Franklin, things had begun to trend in Notre Dame’s favor. The 5-9, 205-pound playmaker visited South Bend a couple of weeks ago, and things have been in a great place ever since. With Spell getting a second chance at the recruiting process, I wouldn’t expect him to make an impulsive decision this time around. While Spell will take some more visits, I like where the Irish are at to get this one done.

WR Quentin Burrell – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel

At 6-3 and 175 pounds, Burrell is the type of boundary wide receiver that the Fighting Irish need more of. With Burrell being a top-50 recruit right in their backyard, he is a player that the Irish need to close on effectively. From a player, academic, and cultural perspective, Burrell seems to fit Notre Dame perfectly. He is a player that the staff has had a high opinion of for a very long time, and the Chicago standout has reciprocated that interest. There isn’t a firm timeline on making a decision, but the Irish are frontrunning.

DT Brayden Parks – Chicago (Ill.) Brother Rice

A bigger interior presence at 6-3 and 305 pounds, Parka brings the impact size that Notre Dame has been pushing hard for. Like Burrell, Parks is a local talent who seemingly fits the program perfectly, so they need to close on him. Parks is a dominant performer for Brother Rice, and his upside is immense. While defensive tackle isn’t a position you typically see play early for Notre Dame, I believe Parks has the talent to do so. He is that talented.
