Five things about Alabama Crimson Tide before matchup vs Florida State

The Florida State Seminoles are 1-1 this season after suffering a tough 27-24 loss to the SMU Mustangs in Week 1. They were on a bye week last week, and now the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide are up.

This is a very important game for FSU because they're staring at a 1-2 start if they lose, with a tough ACC schedule ahead after they play the Central Arkansas Bears. It's a tall task for them to beat a more talented Alabama team, but that's just where they are at this point.

As Florida State looks to pull off the upset, here are five things to know about Alabama.

Keelon Russell is a dual-threat quarterback

It won't be easy for FSU to stop Russell. He's completing over 64% of his passes on the season for 444 yards and a touchdown, and he's also rushed for another 77 yards and a score. They need to find a way to neutralize him as much as possible and keep Alabama's offense behind the chains.

Daniel Hill is a very capable running back

Hill is coming off a big performance against the Kentucky Wildcats with 104 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown, marking his first game over the century mark. He's a runner that has explosiveness to his game, and Florida State can't afford to let him routinely break off huge plays in the running game. It will open up the passing game with Russell, and the Seminoles will be in for a long day defensively.

Alabama's defense will be tough to move the ball on

Through the first two games, Alabama's defense has only allowed 65 yards rushing, and they've racked up seven sacks. Also, teams have only converted one of their 23 third-down attempts, and they also have multiple defensive touchdowns. FSU's offense will have to be efficient and smart with the football in this game.

Alabama's offense controls time of possession

One thing that has helped Alabama immensely in their first two games is that they keep opposing defenses on the field a lot. They're currently averaging over 35 minutes of possession time through two games, and that's something FSU can't let happen in this game, or it will get out of hand early.

Alabama will be looking for revenge against Florida State

Last season, not many people gave FSU a shot to beat Alabama in the season opener. However, the Seminoles didn't just beat the Crimson Tide, they dominated the matchup and won 31-17. That was in Tallahassee, but this time around, the two teams will be playing in Tuscaloosa. Alabama will undoubtedly have the memory of losing to an inferior Florida State on their minds, and they will be motivated to avenge that loss.
