St. Paul football player wins Maps Credit Union boys Athlete of the Week

St. Paul football player Noah Hockett is the winner of the Maps Credit Union high school boys Athlete of the Week, as voted by Statesman Journal readers.
A junior quarterback, Hockett threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns Nov. 7 in the No. 1 Buckaroos’ 52-12 win against Gold Beach in the opening round of the 2A state playoffs.
Hockett received 37.06% of the reader poll votes. Silverton soccer player Colt Lorentz was second (28.54%).

Josiah Dessieux, Stayton soccer
Dessieux scored twice Nov. 5 in the Eagles’ 8-0 victory over No. 16 Baker in a 4A first-round playoff game.
Isaiah Dixon, Stayton soccer
Dixon, a senior forward, was named Oregon West Conference player of the year for the Eagles. Dixon helped lead Stayton to a conference championship off the back of a 9-0-1 conference record and a whopping 69 goals in the regular season as a team.
Chase Dominguez, Silverton football
Dominguez threw for 242 yards and four touchdown passes Nov. 7 in Silverton’s 49-12 5A first-round playoff home win over Crater.
Alexander Garcia, Dayton soccer
Garcia, a junior, provided two assists Nov. 5 as the No. 4 Pirates defeated No. 13 Siuslaw/Mapleton, 2-0, to advance to the 3A/2A/1A state quarterfinals.
Landon Holbrook, Dallas football
Holbrook, a senior running back, rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns Nov. 7 in the No. 6 Dragons' 45-6 home win over No. 11 Milwaukie in the first round of the OSAA 5A playoffs.
Bryce Kuenzi, Cascade football
Cascade’s senior running back scored two touchdowns and rushed for 155 yards Nov. 7 in a 42-14 first-round home playoff victory over Pendleton/Nixyaawii.
Colt Lorentz, Silverton soccer
Lorentz, a freshman, scored the game-winning penalty kick Nov. 5 in the Foxes' 5A playoff home win over Hood River Valley. After a 1-1 stalemate through regular and extra time, the game went to PKs, which ended 7-6 in the Foxes' favor.
Fernando Zepeda, McNary soccer
McNary’s senior forward was named Central Valley Conference player of the year. Zepeda helped the Celtics to a 5-0-3 CVC record en route to a conference championship.
