Purdue started 2-0, and that’s been it. It lost eight straight, but it’s better than last year, the rebuilding is in full swing, and now it needs something positive with Indiana to close out the season in a few weeks.

Again, Washington, what the heck was that?
If Wisconsin could pull off the win over the Huskies, there’s hope for a Purdue team that’s been able to move the ball relatively well on everyone but Ohio State. But in this, Barry Odom’s pass defense has to rise up and rock.
Washington was slowed down by a not-that-awful Wisconsin pass defense, keeping everything underneath and not giving up anything deep. The Huskies are now 0-3 when they don’t get to at least 225 passing yards, 6-0 when they do.

Purdue doesn’t do anything to control the clock or the tempo.
It’s okay on third downs, and it’s decent at keeping most games from getting out of hand, but when it’s time to hammer down and take over games late, it’s not able to do it, partly because the defense breaks down from being on the field for so long.

Purdue’s defense is solid on third downs.
It won’t get enough offense to push through when needed, but there will be plenty of bending without breaking in Seattle. The problem will once again be the lack of a Washington running game.
However, the Huskies will do a decent job of getting quarterback Demond Williams on the move, and the defense will hold up late to get over the Wisconsin game with a solid home win.
