Clemsonfootball missed out on another major offensive line target in the 2027 cycle on Tuesday.

Four-star offensive tackle Elijah Hutcheson announced his commitment to Florida, giving the Gators another recruiting win over the Tigers along the trenches. Hutcheson chose Florida over Clemson, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

The Roanoke, Virginia native had been expected in Clemson later this month for the Tigers’ big official visit weekend on May 29-31, but those plans are now off following his decision.

Hutcheson has been on Clemson’s radar for quite some time. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound tackle worked out at camp last summer before returning for the season opener against LSU. He also made another trip back to campus for the Elite Retreat in March after picking up an offer from Matt Luke and the Tigers in January.

After spending last season at Rabun Gap in Georgia, Hutcheson is back in Virginia at North Cross for his senior year. The 247Sports Composite rankings list him as the No. 85 overall player in the 2027 class and the No. 7 offensive tackle nationally.

The loss marks another recruiting battle Clemson has dropped to Florida recently. Earlier in the cycle, four-star Peyton Miller also picked the Gators over both Clemson and Texas.

Despite missing on Hutcheson, Clemson still has several offensive line targets high on the board, including four-stars Carter Jones, Nate Carson and Reed Ramsier. The Tigers have also extended an offer to three-star tackle JJ Brown in recent weeks.
