LSU football is surging on the recruiting trail. After picking up a couple of commitments in April, LSU began May with the addition of five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. Lane Kiffin and staff made Hudson a priority from the moment Kiffin arrived at LSU and it paid off.

LSU isn’t done yet. The Summer months are massive for recruiting and LSU will keep its foot on the gas with its top targets.

LSU’s 2027 class now ranks top-10 nationally after adding Hudson. The Tigers already have two five-stars committed: Hudson and defensive lineman Jaiden Bryant.

Kiffin took the LSU job because this program can land talent of this caliber. LSU is giving Kiffin the resources to land the big fish. With LSU picking up steam, let’s look at five more of LSU’s elite targets. LSU has a chance to build the No. 1 class in the nation. That starts with LSU landing some of the names here.

1. Easton Royal, wide receiver (committed to Texas)

Royal is the only flip target on this list, but he’s a massive one. The five-star wideout is arguably Louisiana’s top recruit — the type of in-state prospect LSU rarely misses on.

Royal has grown familiar with LSU’s staff in recent months. Kiffin visited Royal in New Orleans and Royal has made multiple visits to LSU’s campus. That’s a positive sign. Royal’s relationship with LSU’s offensive staff goes back to when Kiffin was at Ole Miss. The Rebels were one of the first major programs to extend an offer to the Louisiana product.

Royal is committed to Texas, but this one is far from over.

2. Joshua Dobson, cornerback

Earlier this week, Rivals predicted Dobson to Texas A&M, but LSU won’t just forget about the five-star corner. LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond is one of the best recruiters in the country and LSU’s reputation as “DBU” makes it an appealing destination for any blue-chip corner.

Raymond has a history of producing NFL talent at LSU, and the Tigers just had another cornerback selected in the top-10 of the NFL Draft with Mansoor Delane going to the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 6 overall.

Dobson is the top-ranked corner in the country, and he will command a strong NIL price, but LSU has the resources to compete with the Aggies.

3. Albert Simien, offensive line

As usual, Louisiana has a bevy of talent in the class of 2027. Simien is one of several five-stars from the boot and one of LSU’s top offensive line targets. Like Dobson, A&M is pushing hard to land the interior blocker, but LSU has confidence.

Rivals Industry Rankings slot Simien as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the country and No. 14-ranked prospect in the class.

4. Kaden Henderson, linebacker

From Tampa, Florida, Henderson is the No. 1-ranked linebacker in the country. His recruitment remains wide open with LSU making a push. Notre Dame and Ohio State are both considered contenders, but LSU linebacker coach and defensive coordinator Blake Baker is a top-notch recruiter and he’ll make a strong case.

5. Jayden Miles, running back

LSU will need to sign a couple of running backs in the class of 2027 and why not start with Louisiana product Jayden Miles?

The Catholic High School running back is from Baton Rouge. Thanks to the proximity, Miles has been familiar with LSU for quite some time. Miles was on LSU RBs coach Kevin Smith’s radar when Smith was still at Ole Miss. LSU usually has good luck with Baton Rouge recruits and if the Tigers make Miles a priority, he’ll land at LSU.
