Recruiting Reset: Jack Brown is a Future Tight End Star for Mizzou Football

Mizzou Football is up and running with their 2027 recruiting class — and one of their best additions comes from an in-state pledge in the St. Louis area side.

Jack Brown, a four-star tight end from Francis Howell Central announced his commitment to Missouri on March 17th as the fourth overall addition of the class.

Brown is ranked as the top player in the state of Missouri in 2027, and it’s easy to see why. From True Deck’s commitment post:

As a junior, Brown was tied for first on his team with six touchdowns. He added 25 receptions and 243 yards of offense. He’ll look to continue building as he still has a senior season ahead of him in St. Louis county.

Where He Fits

Missouri is set to lose Jordon Harris and Brett Norfleet after this 2026 season, so Jack Brown will certainly fit among the tight end position of needs in this recruiting cycle. He will provide reliable depth to this position alongside key contributors Gavin Hoffman and Jude James for the upcoming future.

When He Plays

As per usual, it’s an uncertainty how much playing time an incoming freshman will get — especially in the SEC. Plus, Mizzou may be active in the transfer portal for an experienced tight end. Though in Brett Norfleet’s freshman season — he played in 12 games and recorded 18 receptions for 197 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That production landed Norfleet on the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2023.

Perhaps, we can see an impact somewhat similar with Brown’s freshman season.

What It Means

Jack Brown has all the makings of becoming a future tight end star for the Mizzou Football program. The high-end talent is certainly there, and he’ll have the potential to thrive in this offense if Eli Drinkwitz and the staff can utilize him the best way possible.
