No. 3 Texas A&M (9-0, 6-0 SEC) is back in College Station this weekend, set to host South Carolina (3-6, 1-6 SEC) for an early 11:00 a.m. kickoff, as the Aggies have either played in late afternoon or primetime in all but one game this season.
This week, the first two SEC Availability Reports reported that the Aggies will be without senior linebacker Scooby Williams and senior safety Bryce Anderson, who will miss their second consecutive game. Paired with freshman safety Rashad “Tom Tom” Johnson and star running back Le’Veon Moss, who continues to recover from his ankle injury, one surprising name popped up on the injury report.
Transfer wide receiver Mario Craver, who leads the Aggies with 46 receptions for 775 receiving yards, had been listed as questionable for the last two days, while On3 insider Pete Nakos reported the sophomore star at a likely game-time decision to take the field.
However, according to Friday night’s latest injury report, Craver is now listed as probable, with a 75% chance to play, which is an excellent sign and shows he made progress this week before the early kickoff. While Texas A&M’s roster is good enough to beat South Carolina without Craver, this is still an SEC opponent looking to salvage what has been a highly disappointing season.
Craver’s elite route-running and explosive speed in the open field provide a mismatch for every secondary, so even on a limited snap count, Craver’s presence will be felt if he plays.
Friday nights iteration of the Student-Athlete availability report is out:
