Auburn football returns home for an off week after a heartbreaking loss to Vanderbilt in Week 11.
The Tigers tied their season-high with 38 points against the Commodores, although it wasn’t enough in their 45-38 loss. Quarterback Ashton Daniels passed for 353 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for another 89 yards in two scores in the loss.
Auburn‘s two best chances at reaching bowl eligibility have ended in loss, as the Tigers have dropped back-to-back games to Kentucky and Vanderbilt. The Tigers must go 2-0 in their final two games of the season against Mercer and Auburn to reach the six-win mark.
Interim coach DJ Durkin is perhaps looking to end the year strong as a tryout for Auburn, or a future job.

Auburn is off in Week 12, as the Tigers rest this week before its final two games of the season against Mercer and archrival Alabama in the regular season finale.
It’s Auburn’s second and final off week of the season. The Tigers’ first off week came Oct. 4, after a loss to Texas A&M and before a loss to Georgia.
