BATON ROUGE – Before the start of the 2025 college football season, junior linebacker Whit Weeks was voted as one of LSU football’s team captains.
Weeks entered this season with the Tigers coming off his best collegiate year in his first full season starting in 2024 where the Watkinsville, Georgia native led the defense in tackles with 125 stops, which ranked second in the SEC.
He earned First Team All-SEC honors last season voted on by the Associated Press and the SEC coaches.

Here are three things to know about Weeks.
LSU linebacker Whit Weeks was heavier featured in Netflix show SEC Football: Any Given Saturday
During the 2024 season, Netflix sent film crews to several SEC football programs and highlights parts of their season that year. LSU was one of the teams along with South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas. The show debuted before the start of the 2025 season.
Weeks was one of the few players Netflix featured during the LSU segments of the show and the response to his spots on the show were positive.
Whit Weeks is dating Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin’s daughter Landry Kiffin
In one of the wilder plot twist so far this season in college football, Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin’s daughter Landry “hard-launched” her relationship with Weeks the week of the annual rivalry matchup between the Tigers and Rebels.
Kiffin posted pictures of her and Weeks on the social media platform Instagram, setting college football fans ablaze as well as providing sports commentators plenty to talk about ahead of that matchup.
Ole Miss beat LSU, 24-19.

One Weeks wasn’t enough for LSU football. It has three Weeks’ boys on roster.
Senior West Weeks is the oldest brother. Whit is the middle brother and the youngest Weeks, Zach, actually reclassified in high school last season to join the 2025 recruiting class so he could have the chance to play with both of his older brothers.
Zach Weeks signed with LSU and has played in a few games as a freshman this season.
