Michigan football has been on a recruiting tear the past few weeks, but as the Wolverines accumulated talent from around the country to fill the 2027 class, the big name that didn't necessarily get the ball rolling, but got it to accumulate speed, was 2027 Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell.

At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Burrell is highly ranked according to all three national recruiting services. He's rated the highest by ESPN, which has him as the No. 57 player in the country, but Rivals is also quite high on him, ranking him No. 83 nationally. The Wolverines haven't exactly gotten many of that caliber of pass catcher until last year, when Andrew Marsh pledged to the maize and blue.

His promise is off the charts, and it showed that much more as Burrell participated in the UA Next Chicago camp this past weekend, where The UC Report's Billy Tucker captured some of his drill work.

Here's the scouting report from 247Sports' Andrew Ivins, who compares him to former Oklahoma and Missouri wide receiver, Theo Wease Jr.:

-Steady and productive X projection that will outwork coverage for the football.-Enters senior season as Mount Carmel’s all-time leader in touchdown catches (142 receptions for 2,396 yards and 34 scores).-Tends to win with his route-running and overall spacing.-Makes difficult grabs on the sidelines as he attacks passes with focused hands.-Quick to get vertical once the ball is secured and will fight for extra yardage.-Can certainly find a top gear, but shouldn’t be classified as a burner and is the type of wideout that creates more issues for defenders with his size and IQ than his speed.-Already embraces the idea of blocking on the perimeter and will work for teammates.-Projects as a potential multi-year contributor with all-league upside at the Power Four level.

Given that previous coach Sherrone Moore had started to change the pass game trajectory by bringing in Bryce Underwood at quarterback and Andrew Marsh at receiver, along with Kyle Whittingham supplementing by adding Jaime Ffrench, JJ Buchanan, and Salesi Moa to the mix, the upside of the room continues to grow, with the potential really going through the roof.
