Kickoff times revealed for Michigan Football games vs WMU and UTEP

The Big Ten announced kickoff times and television designations for the first three weeks of the 2026 college football season on Wednesday, giving fans a look at when and where they can watch the Michigan Wolverines early in the year.

Michigan’s season opener against Western Michigan on Sept. 5 is officially set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Michigan Stadium and will air nationally on NBC. It will mark another primetime showcase for the Wolverines under the lights in Ann Arbor, including three in a row to begin the season.

The Week 2 game against Oklahoma was previously announced as a noon start time on FOX. But one week later, the Wolverines will return to The Big House against UTEP on Sept. 19. That matchup is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and will be aired on Big Ten Network.

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of having Michigan play its first game of the year in primetime. This is the third year in a row the Wolverines will begin their campaign under the lights of The Big House, with the games vs Fresno State in 2024 and New Mexico in 2025 also being in the NBC/Peacock primetime window.

As always, each Big Ten team is required to play a certain amount of games in primetime, so the Week 1 matchup will be one of the Wolverines’ for the 2026 season. It’s unclear which other game(s) will be played in primetime at The Big House this fall, but we should know more about that in the months ahead. Kickoff times and TV assignments for the remainder of Michigan’s 2026 schedule are expected to be announced at a later date.
