MSU football announces kickoff times, TV assignments for first two games

We have some official game times and TV designations for the Spartans' first few games of the 2026 season.
Michigan State football announced game times and TV designations for their first two games of the upcoming season on Wednesday. The Spartans will kick off their season against Toledo at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, September 4 and then will follow that up with another home game against Eastern Michigan on September 12 that will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET. The season-opener against the Rockets will be televised on Fox Sports 1, while the week two matchup against the Eagles will be aired on the Big Ten Network.

With the announcement of the game times for the Toledo and Eastern Michigan home games to open the season, we now know the first three kick off times. It was already previously announced that the first road game of the year at Notre Dame on September 19 will be a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC.
Michigan State comes into this season under a new coaching staff led by head coach Pat Fitzgerald. The Spartans currently own the longest bowl drought of four seasons, with Michigan State finishing 4-8 overall and 1-8 in Big Ten games last season.
