As we inch closer to the summer and await the start of fall camp, the anticipation of a new college football video game continues to grow among fans. The return of EA Sports College Football has been a big hit among fans of the sport, and the Oregon Ducks could have a representative on the upcoming cover.

Rumors have swirled that Oregon quarterback Dante Moore could grace the cover of EA Sports College Football 27 this offseason, and according to the latest leak, Moore is one of several players who could be featured.

An unconfirmed leak of the video game’s deluxe edition cover features Moore prominently alongside multiple college football stars, including Miami’s Malachi Toney, USC’s Jayden Maiava, and more. Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti appears front and center on the leaked cover.

While the cover can’t be confirmed as real, we should get an answer soon enough. On Friday, EA Sports announced the “Opening Drive” event will reveal more information on the upcoming college football game, as well as Madden NFL 27, in “one connected showcase, covering every mode, every major innovation, and every way to play.” The event is scheduled for June 4, and it’s possible that EA Sports reveals the official cover as well.

Moore makes sense as a candidate to grace the cover. Entering the upcoming season as one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy, Moore would follow the pattern of Heisman contenders on the cover. Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith and Alabama’s Ryan Coleman-Williams both appeared on the cover last year. Texas’ Quinn Ewers, Michigan’s Donovan Edwards and Colorado’s Travis Hunter, who won the Heisman in the 2024-25 season, appeared on the first cover after the game returned.

In the past, EA Sports has revealed a standard edition cover with two or three players as the cover athletes, followed by a deluxe edition that includes several players and coaches. Dan Lanning and the Duck appeared on the cover of the deluxe edition last year.
