LSU football rolled out the red carpet for several top 2027 prospects over the weekend. One of those visitors was Easton Royal, Louisiana's No. 1 prospect and a top-10 overall player in the cycle.

Royal, a native of New Orleans, is currently committed to Texas. He made his third visit of the spring to Baton Rouge over the weekend and continues to be a top priority for head coach Lane Kiffin and staff. According to a report from Rivals, LSU made a strong impression on the five-star wideout on the official visit.

“They made a very big, significant jump,” Royal told Rivals.

Royal has two more official visits scheduled in June to Florida and Texas. He already took a trip to Ole Miss in May. Rivals' Industry Rankings lists him as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 10 overall in the 2027 cycle.

During his trip to campus, Royal spent time with Ed Orgeron. The former LSU head coach turned assistant under Kiffin was active in conversations with recruits in Baton Rouge, including Royal. He posted a photo of the pair to his social media account.

As the No. 1 recruit in Louisiana, Royal is a massive priority for LSU. Kiffin and the Tigers don't want to lose their home state's best prospect to an SEC rival. Kiffin took the LSU job because of the talent Louisiana had to offer. Louisiana has produced a handful of elite wide receivers in recent years and Royal could be next up.
