Kentucky Football‘s recruiting momentum under first-year head coach Will Stein continues to build, and the Wildcats appear to be trending toward another major addition in the class of 2027.
4-star offensive lineman Dominic Black of New Madison, Ohio, is expected by several recruiting insiders to choose Kentucky over a strong group of finalists that includes Michigan State, Tennessee, Indiana, and Virginia Tech.
Before his decision, national recruiting analysts Allen Trieu, Greg Smith, and Steve Wiltfong all logged predictions in favor of Kentucky, signaling growing confidence that the Wildcats would ultimately land the talented lineman.
Black is rated as the No. 191 overall prospect nationally, the No. 19 offensive tackle, and the No. 7 player in Ohio according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings. At 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, he has emerged as one of the Midwest’s top offensive line recruits.
Kentucky’s relationship with Black has developed rapidly over the last several months. After visiting Lexington for Junior Day in January, he received an offer from offensive line assistant Paul Rodriguez on Jan. 30. Since then, offensive line coach Cutter Leftwich has taken the lead in his recruitment.
Black returned to campus in March for another unofficial visit, where he met with Stein and the coaching staff. Leftwich also visited Black at his high school last month, further strengthening the Wildcats’ position.
With an official visit scheduled for June 5-7, Kentucky appears to have all the momentum. Defending national champion Indiana has been viewed as the Wildcats’ biggest competition, but another major recruiting win for Stein and his staff appears within reach.
