Most of the news yesterday was around the softball squad’s loss to Texas Tech, which we had covered here at RBR, so we won’t talk about it here in the JP today.

Moving on to football, the Tide picked up a new commitment for the class of 2028.

Class of 2028 linebacker Dustin “Boosh” Henry has Committed to Alabama, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.

Henry is a talented linebacker who recently reclassed up from 2029 to 2028. The rising star chose Alabama over LSU and Oregon, as Henry will now join quarterback Charles Scott Jr. as the second Crimson Tide commit from the 2028 class. Alabama has slowly begun to target a plethora of talent from the class of 2028, and Henry’s commitment serves as a massive victory for Head Coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff early-on in their recruitment trail.

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Henry has been nothing short of a star to begin his high school career at St. Frances Academy in Maryland. The linebacker received a plethora of interest from a handful of programs around the country prior to his Alabama commitment, but Henry ultimately decided that the Crimson Tide were the best fit and now finds himself in Tuscaloosa for his freshman campaign in 2028.

Henry is a really young guy as a 2029 prospect that reclassified to 2028. So who knows if this is one that’ll stick. Still, I’m always happy to take someone from St. Frances Academy.

“Will continues to wreck practice,” Ryans said after Thursday’s practice. “I’m probably going to have to sit him out here soon because we have to be able to actually practice. He just keeps wrecking practice. So just keep doing that, keep causing havoc. That’s what he does. And I was showing guys that’s what he does on Sundays as well. So it’s no surprise Will is the guy for everyone to watch for the intensity at which we operate. That’s how Will Anderson plays. That’s how I want everybody to be.”

Will Anderson continues to wreck things in practice. I seem to remember Saban saying the exact same thing just a few years ago. If Anderson keeps up his production, he’ll have a very strong argument to be considered one of the top couple of pass rushers in the whole NFL.

Former Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones and linebacker DeMeco Ryans are under consideration for the College Football Hall of Fame’s 2027 class, the National Football Foundation announced on Monday.

Barrett Jones is a guy that seems like he should be a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame considering the sheer amount of award hardware he won over his career.

CARLSBAD, Calif. – William Jennings made a valiant effort coming back from four strokes behind midway through the final round but fell just short and finished runner up at the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships. Jennings finished the fourth and final round of stroke play at 13-under par 275 (66-70-70-69).

With his result, Jennings matches Jerry Pate (1975) for the best finish by any Crimson Tide golfer at the NCAA Championships in program history. It also caps a fantastic 2025-26 season in which he collected three wins and eight top five results including three runner-up finishes.

Congrats to Jennings! Way to represent.
