Army vs Air Force Prediction: This Might Make the Season

Everyone gushes over Army vs Navy, and rightly so.

It’s the end of the college football season, there’s the history, the pageantry, and …

Army vs Air Force isn’t as intense, but wow have these games been entertaining over the years. This time around, it might mean even more, and not in a good way.

Air Force is a blast, but it can’t stop anyone in a 2-5 start. Army is 3-4 as it can’t recapture the magic of last season.

With Temple, Tulsa, and a date at UTSA up next, the Black Knights can still go bowling with a loss, but getting out of this alive would make it easier.

The Falcons play three of their last four games on the road. Lose, and that’s about it for a bowl. But whatever … it’s Army, it’s Air Force, and it’ll be fun.

Why Army Will Win

Again, the Air Force defense isn’t stopping anyone.

The defense is the worst in the nation on third downs, and it’s getting killed by everyone who tries to throw. This isn’t your normal Navy team this season, but it threw for 339 yards … yeah, Navy.

Army is still Army. Only Iowa is better at limiting the penalties. The ground game is still amazing, and it should be able to dominate the time and the clock with third down conversions for days. However …

Why Air Force Will Win

Air Force’s real problem is against teams that can throw. It’s not all that bad against the run – to a point.

Army throws a little bit – around ten times per game – but it still needs to run wild to pull this off. That’s actually a break for Air Force.

Again, the Falcons aren’t doing much to stop anyone, but even though Navy threw well, and ran for over six yards per carry, they were able to hang around with their own offense.

No one in America averages more yards per completion, and Air Force might drag Army’s offense out and make it take more chances.

Army vs Air Force Prediction, Betting Lines

All Air Force games are wild firefights this year, but the Army game is always close.

The last 11 games between the two teams were low scoring affairs, partly because both teams dominate the clock and keep it moving.

This one will have a few more points than usual, but it’ll still be close, the score won’t get out of hand, and Army will make it three straight and five of the last six.

The Black Knights will control the game a little more when it has to.
