When Deion Sanders became the Colorado Buffaloes head coach in December 2022, the hype surrounding the Buffs soared to an all-time high entering the 2023 season.
The hype led to Colorado being featured on Fox’s flagship pregame show, “Big Noon Kickoff,” in four of the first six weeks of the 2023 college football season. In 2024, when the Buffs went 9-4, the show continued to showcase Sanders’ program with CU being in the marquee matchup on three more occasions.
Where Colorado stands among Big Noon Kickoff appearances
Surprisingly, Colorado is one of the most featured programs on the program. Since “Big Noon Kickoff” began hosting on-campus broadcasts in 2019, the show has aired before a Colorado matchup 7 times. That number ranks No. 4 all time, only behind Ohio State (27 appearances), Michigan (20) and Penn State (12).
Four of those seven shows were held in Boulder, but even more impressive is that the Buffs are 6-1 in those contests. The show’s Sept. 9 and Sept. 16, 2023, shows in Boulder marked the first time in the show’s history that it broadcast from the same campus in consecutive weeks. That phenomenon has only happened once since then, when “Big Noon Kickoff” broadcast from Ohio Stadium the final two weeks of the 2024 regular season.

Can the Buffaloes get back in the mix to host Big Noon Kickoff?
The short answer is 100% yes. Fox still owns a share of the Big 12 media rights, even though most games are shown on ESPN channels. “Big Noon Kickoff” has also shown it will go to certain matchups even if Fox is not broadcasting the game.
Looking at Colorado’s early 2026 slate, the Buffs’ Week 3 matchup against Northwestern on Sept. 19 might be the best opportunity all season to appear on “Big Noon Kickoff.” The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. MT kickoff on either Fox or FS1.
Depending on how the season goes for Colorado, more games could fall into Fox’s hands and perhaps a “Big Noon Kickoff” broadcast.
