How every Alabama offseason transfer has performed so far this season

This past offseason, the Alabama Crimson Tide saw over 20+ players depart the program via the transfer portal.
Among that group, Alabama lost a few starters to the portal, as well as some prominent backups who saw a notable amount of action a year ago for the Crimson Tide. Since departing Alabama, some of those same names have gone on to see a similar amount of success elsewhere, while others are not necessarily seeing as much action compared to what occurred when in Tuscaloosa.
In addition, there are also a few others who are now having breakout seasons with their respective new teams, with some posting multiple career-high’s statistically.
Following is how every Alabama transfer from this past offseason has performed across the first nine weeks of the 2025 season.
Dylan Lonergan, Quarterback – Boston College Eagles
We begin at the quarterback position with Lonergan, who transferred from Alabama to Boston College where he has seen time as a starter for the Eagles. Across six games, Lonergan has completed 67% of passes for 1,394 yards and a 9:3 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for a score.
Justice Haynes, Running Back – Michigan Wolverines
The former Alabama running back has been one of college football’s most impactful offseason transfers overall this season after joining the Michigan Wolverines following two years in Tuscaloosa. Across seven games, Haynes leads the Big Ten in rushing with 857 yards and 10 touchdowns on 121 attempts, while also having hauled in 13 receptions for 50 yards.
Kendrick Law, Wide Receiver – Kentucky Wildcats
After multiple seasons at Alabama, Law transferred within the SEC where he has since become one of the top wide receivers for the Kentucky Wildcats. Law is enjoying a breakout season with Kentucky where the wide receiver has 24 receptions for 302 yards and two touchdowns across seven games, while also rushing for 26 yards on his three attempts, as well as returned six kickoffs for 97 yards.
Kobe Prentice, Wide Receiver – Baylor Bears
Prentice made the move to the Big 12 during the offseason, transferring from Alabama to Baylor. Across his eight games at Baylor, Prentice has hauled in 21 receptions for 282 yards and a career-high six touchdowns.
Emmanuel Henderson Jr., Wide Receiver – Kansas Jayhawks
After multiple seasons in Tuscaloosa, Henderson transferred to Kansas where the wide receiver is currently enjoying a massive breakout fall campaign. Across eight games played, Henderson has hauled in a career-high 34 receptions for 554 yards and four touchdowns, along with two rushes for five yards, as well as 12 kick returns for 321 yards and one touchdown, which currently leads the Big 12.
Jaren Hamilton, Wide Receiver – Arizona State Sun Devils
Hamilton transferred to the Big 12 where the wide receiver is now at Arizona State. After not recording any stats in his time at Alabama, Hamilton has recorded six receptions for 164 yards across eight games this season, while also returning six kicks for 128 yards.
Amari Jefferson, Wide Receiver – Tennessee Volunteers
Jefferson made the move across the SEC from Alabama to Tennessee this past offseason. The wide receiver has not recorded any stats with the Volunteers.
Caleb Odom, Tight End – Ole Miss Rebels
Odom transferred within the SEC from Alabama to Ole Miss, and in the process, made a position switch from wide receiver to tight end. Across eight games this season, Odom is enjoying a breakout season in which he has made eight receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Ty Lockwood, Tight End – Boston College Eagles
Lockwood, a tight end, transferred from Alabama to Boston College. Across seven games, Lockwood has made one reception for 14 yards.
Elijah Pritchett, Offensive Tackle – Nebraska Cornhuskers
After starting along Alabama’s offensive line a year ago, Pritchett transferred to Nebraska this past offseason where he has played a key role for the Cornhuskers up front. Pritchett has primarily served as the Cornhuskers starting left tackle.
Miles McVay, Offensive Tackle – North Carolina Tar Heels
McVay transferred to North Carolina during the offseason after spending time at Alabama as a backup. The Alabama transfer has primary served as a backup this season.
Naquil Betrand, Offensive Tackle – Syracuse Orange
Betrand transferred to Syracuse following his lone season at Alabama where he did not see action. The Alabama transfer is a backup offensive lineman at Syracuse.
Jehiem Oatis, Defensive Tackle – Colorado Buffaloes
Oatis, a defensive tackle, was arguably the biggest name transfer from Alabama defensively, heading to Colorado to play for head coach Deion Sanders. Across seven games, Oatis has posted five tackles and one pass defense.
Damon Payne, Defensive Tackle – Michigan Wolverines
After multiple seasons in Tuscaloosa, Payne transferred from Alabama to Michigan where he is currently teammates with the aforementioned Haynes. Over eight games, Payne has posted 11 tackles and one TFL for the Wolverines.
Hunter Osborne, Defensive Tackle – Virginia Cavaliers
Osborne transferred to Virginia where the defensive tackle is now enjoyed a breakout season in the ACC. Across his eight games played, Osborne had made 10 tackles with two TFL and one sack.
Keanu Koht, Edge Rusher – Vanderbilt Commodores
Koht transferred within the SEC during the offseason, going from Alabama to Vanderbilt. Across eight games played with the Commodores, Koht has racked up six tackles, two TFL, two sacks, and one pass defense.
Justin Okoronkwo, Inside Linebacker – South Carolina Gamecocks
A name which Alabama faced just last week, Okoronkwo transferred to South Carolina where the inside linebacker is now enjoying a breakout season. Across eight games played, Okoronkwo has racked up 37 tackles, one TFL, one interception, and one pass defense for the Gamecocks.
Sterling Dixon, Inside Linebacker – NC State Wolfpack
Dixon joined NC State following his time at Alabama. The linebacker has not recorded any stats at NC State.
Jeremiah Alexander, Inside Linebacker – Clemson Tigers
After multiple seasons at Alabama, Alexander transferred to the ACC where he is now at Clemson. Across seven games, Alexander has made 13 tackles with one pass defense.
Jahlil Hurley, Cornerback – Kansas Jayhawks
Hurley transferred to Kansas this past offseason following multiple seasons at Alabama. Across eight games as a member of the Jayhawks, Hurley has made two tackles with two pass defenses.
DeVonta Smith, Safety – Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Emerging as a starter for the Crimson Tide at times a year ago, Smith transferred to Notre Dame in the offseason as a potential impact member of the Fighting Irish’s secondary. Smith has appeared in three games for Notre Dame this season, making two tackles with a fumble recovery.
King Mack, Safety – Penn State Nittany Lions
Mack transferred back to Penn State after joining the Crimson Tide a year ago from the Nittany Lions. The safety is enjoying a career-year where Mack has posted 27 tackles, two pass defenses, and returned four kicks for 123 yards.
