New details emerged earlier this week surrounding the release of EA Sports College Football 27, the newest video game in a highly beloved franchise that made its return to gamers a couple of years ago after a long hiatus. From new game modes to dynasty features and graphic updates, fans of the game got a large helping of new info on Thursday, with the game set to be released within the next month.
Another interesting piece of information concerns who will actually be in the game. According to multiple reports, ESPN’s star color analyst Kirk Herbstreit is not expected to be one of the game’s voices alongside his play-by-play partner, Chris Fowler, but will instead be replaced by Fox Sports color analyst Joel Klatt.
Reasons for the change have not been revealed, but it will be new to hear Klatt and Fowler working together, rather than the Herbstreit-Fowler duo that fans have grown so accustomed to over the last decade in college football.

Whether it was a contract dispute, or the fact that Herbstreit might simply be spread too thin — along with his College GameDay duties, Herbstreit also calls NFL games on Thursday nights for Amazon alongside Al Michaels — there will be a new voice on the game this year.
Klatt is a beloved figure in college football, so it’s hard to think that the change will upset too many people in the end.
