The wave of verbal commits continues to roll in for UConn football with the Class of 2027 now up to 16 players.
Jason Madden, EDGE
Madden announced a verbal commitment to UConn on X on Monday. In total, the New Jersey native received 24 offers, including some from Temple, Akron, Army, Buffalo and Delaware.
At Donovan Catholic High School in New Jersey, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound player has experience on both sides of the field, playing linebacker, tight end and wide receiver. In his junior year (2025), the 2027 prospect hauled in three receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown in 12 games. Defensively, Madden racked up 80 tackles (37 solo and 43 assisted), 13 tackles for loss and seven sacks. While Madden is a two-way player, he is expected to stay on the defense as an edge rusher.
Preston Glasco, Cornerback
Glasco also picked UConn on Monday with a verbal commitment on X. The Georgia native received 12 offers with the likes of Old Dominion, Boston College, Army and Colorado State also vying for his services.
The UConn coaching staff sees the 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback as a versatile player who will impact the program’s secondary with this length. Now, Glasco joins three-star recruit Eltonino Hicks as well as Alan Blackshere as the defensive backs in the Huskies’ 2027 class.
Glasco took his official visit to Connecticut on June 5 and is scheduled to take final scheduled official visit against Old Dominion on June 19.
Jaydon Rawls, Wide Receiver
Rawls verbally committed to UConn on Friday. Collectively, the 6-foot-5, 195-pound receiver had three other offers: UMass, Colorado and California. Rawls has transferred to three high schools. In his sophomore year (2024), he played for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Georgia), where he tallied four receptions for 57 yards and two endzone appearances in three matches.
In his junior year (2025) at East Marion HS (Mississippi), Rawls primarily played wide receiver but also took snaps as a defensive back. Offensively, he caught 14 receptions for 193 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 13.8 yards per catch in three outings. As a defender, Rawls made eight tackles (five solo and three assisted). He also returned kicks, totaling 105 yards in three attempts. Now, the tall wideout will take his talent to Desert Edge (Arizona) for his senior year.
Currently, Rivals lists Rawls as a three-star recruit and the No. 39 prospect in Arizona. Nationally, it has him No. 200 at the receiver position and No. 1,509 overall.
With Rawls’ height, the Huskies are expected to use him as a wide receiver and could become a major endzone weapon. He took his official visit to Connecticut on June 5.
Raph Bonfoh, Defensive Lineman
Bonfoh verbally committed to UConn on Friday. The 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive lineman received 10 offers, per X, including from FAU, Marshall, James Madison and Toledo.
In his junior year (2025) at The St. James Academy (Maryland), Bonfoh showcased his ability to play anywhere on the defensive line. Whether he was positioned on the edge or as a lineman, Bonfoh found ways to disrupt the quarterback quickly. Bonfoh is most likely expected to begin his career at UConn as an edge rusher.
Krystian Oakley, Offensive lineman
Oakley announced a commitment to UConn on Friday. The three-star prospect originally planned on revealing his decision on June 30, but decided to reveal it early. The Indiana native received 12 offers, including from Kentucky, Louisville, Western Kentucky and Ball State.
In Oakley’s junior year at Brebeuf Jesuit High School (Indiana), he was also listed as a defensive lineman. However, he is expected to play offensively since offensive line coach John Morookian recruited him. Currently, the 6-foot-6, 345-pound offensive lineman is ranked No. 1340 nationally, No. 103 at the tackle position and No. 20 in Indiana. Oakley took his official visit to Connecticut on May 29 and now becomes the program’s 16th 2027 commit.
