ACC rival 'surging' for key FSU commit

FSU's 2027 recruiting class has seen plenty of change in June, with five players joining the class and two decommitting. That has been a consistent trend for the Seminoles under Mike Norvell, with their struggles on the field not helping at all.

They have seen the most departures in the secondary, where they recently lost commitments from four-star safety Mekhi Williams and three-star athlete Dayon Cooper. Their departures mean three-star safety Jemari Foreman is currently the only defensive back committed to the Seminoles, but they have some stiff competetion for him.

The Louisville Cardinals have been recruiting him for quite some time and have been relentless in their efforts to flip the Fort Lauderdale product away from FSU. They hosted him on an official visit on June 5, and they appear to have taken the momentum in his recruitment, according to Tom Loy of 247Sports

The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cypress Bay three-star defensive back committed to Florida State on Sept. 6, 2025. However, Louisville is firmly in the picture and very much a threat to flip him from the Seminoles. The Cardinals are surging right now and have given him a lot to think about.

Foreman is FSU's second-longest tenured commit and someone that they need to hold onto after their other losses in the secondary. He had an extremely productive junior season at Plantation High School, finishing with 70 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, 10 interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

He is ranked as the No. 627 overall player and No. 61 safety in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 50 player from Florida.
