Syracuse football recruiting has had an up and down last few weeks but it was good news for the Orange when safety Jalen Welch from Georgia committed on Tuesday.

The 6’2.5” 190 pound Welch had offers from Boston College, West Virginia and Iowa State among others. The 247Sports ranks him 38th at his position while Rivals has him at 36th among safeties. Both services rank Welch 52nd in his class in Georgia. 

Welch’s ranking might be one to watch as he grades just below a four-star and it seems like the coaching staff has no problem talking him up.

Syracuse’s class is now ranked 37th by 247 and 49th in the country by Rivals.
