The Iron Bowl rivalry between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers will get underway at an unusual start time.
The SEC on Monday announced start times and TV channel information for its Week 14 “Rivalry Week” slate. Alabama (8-2 overall, 6-1 SEC) will face Auburn (4-6, 1-6) beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT from Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be televised on ABC.
Alabama-Auburn has been a staple of the 2:30 p.m. CT time slot for years. In fact, the 90th all-time meeting between the Crimson Tide and Tigers this year will mark the first time the Iron Bowl will be played in prime time since the 2014 game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Prior to that, Alabama last played Auburn at Jordan-Hare in prime time in 2007.
The Crimson Tide saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end Saturday in a 23-21 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners in Tuscaloosa. It was Alabama’s first home loss since September 2023, as well as the first home loss under coach Kalen DeBoer, and the Tide’s first SEC loss at Bryant-Denny Stadium since November 2019 to LSU.
Alabama fell six spots to No. 10 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll; Auburn is unranked.
Alabama will face Eastern Illinois from the Big South Conference in its regular-season home finale at 1 p.m. CT Saturday. The game will not be televised, but it will be available to stream on ESPN Unlimited, formerly ESPN+, under the SEC Network+ umbrella.
Auburn had a bye in Week 12 and faces Mercer this week before playing Alabama. The Tigers fired coach Hugh Freeze on Nov. 2 and promoted D.J. Durkin to interim coach.
