Georgia football makes move for nation's No. 7 RB recruit

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to class of 2028 running back recruit Xander Edwards, who is ranked as a four-star recruit.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound running back plays high school football for The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. Edwards is ranked as the No. 117 recruit in the country and the No. 17 prospect in Florida. He's the seventh-best running back nationally in the rising junior class.

Edwards has recent scholarship offers from Georgia, Ohio State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and more. The talented running back has a good combination of size and speed. Edwards ripped off numerous long touchdown runs during his sophomore season and has a formidable stiff arm.

The Bolles School star put together a monster sophomore season. He posted 2,629 rushing yards and 44 rushing touchdowns in 2025. Edwards did not have a ton of receiving production, but he has a few years to work on his skills in the passing game.

"After a great workout and conversation with Kirby Smart and Josh Crawford, I am blessed to receive an offer from the University of Georgia," Edwards said via social media. Edwards attended a Georgia football camp in June and received an offer during his time in Athens.
