LSU football added a talented Louisiana wide receiver to its 2027 recruiting class, flipping Gary Burney Jr. from Houston. Burney committed to the Tigers in the midst of his official visit on LSU's campus.

Per the Rivals Industry Rankings, Burney is the No. 847-ranked prospect in the class, No. 122 wide receiver, and sits No. 17 in the state of Louisiana. 247Sports is higher on Burney, ranking the Bossier City native as the No. 75 wideout in the class. Lane Kiffin's staff has made it a priority to keep Louisiana kids at home and the Tigers earn another win here.

Burney is the 14th player in the 2027 class to commit to LSU. The Tigers' class ranks No. 10 in the country, and that mark could improve in the coming days as LSU makes a push with several blue-chip recruits.

Burney is the fourth wide receiver to commit to LSU this cycle and the second WR from Louisiana, joining Braylon Calais. With the official visit season wrapping up, multiple recruiting dominoes will fall over the next month.
