The 2026 college football season is continuing to draw closer. And with it, more details regarding scheduling are being revealed.

Recently, the schedule was announced for the 2026-2027 College Football Playoff. This will mark year three of the 12-team playoff era, with Ohio State and Indiana having won the first two tournaments, respectively.

This year’s CFP will begin with the first round games on December 18 and 19. Once again, those games will take place on college campuses.

The quarterfinals will be played on December 30 and January 1. The sites for those games will be the Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Rose Bowl.

The semifinals will be held at the Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl on January 14 and 15. The season will conclude with the national championship game in Las Vegas on January 25.

Notably, this year’s national championship will be televised by both ABC and ESPN. This will mark the first time in the playoff era that the game will air on broadcast television.

USC has infamously yet to make the College Football Playoff in its 12 years of existence. Lincoln Riley and the Trojans are hoping that this is the year they can finally break through and change that.
