The Washington Huskies are among the three finalists for elite four-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy wide receiver Osani Gayles, ahead of his commitment on Saturday.
Gayles, a 5-foot-11, 185-pounder originally from California, will make his college decision between Alabama, Stanford, and UW this weekend. The four-star recruit is ranked as the No. 35 overall prospect and the No. 7 WR in the 2027 class, based on 247Sports' rankings.
All three schools have hosted the elite pass-catcher for an official visit over the past two months, with the Cardinal having the first chance to get Gayles on campus May 22-23. The Crimson Tide (May 29-June 1) and Huskies (June 5-6) followed the ACC program, with former UW coach Kalen DeBoer and Alabama holding the lone crystal ball projection.
While UW is among his final list of schools, Huskies' coach Jedd Fisch and receivers coach Kevin Cummings already have four players committed at the position in the '27 cycle. Three four-star recruits, Tre Moore, Dontay Tyson, and Braylon Pope, along with three-star Zerek Sidney, comprise the crop of wideouts headed to Montlake next year, which doesn't leave much room for a fifth without knowing potential attrition following this coming season.
Gayles undoubtably would be a welcome addition to the class, but the additions of Moore—the No. 160 overall prospect—and Tyson—the ranked No. 329 overall in 2027—earlier this month make it hard for UW to end up being the hat the four-star puts on this Saturday.
In his first season at IMG Academy, the former California native put up 20 catches for 492 yards and 5 touchdowns over nine games for the Florida high school football powerhouse.
