Matt Campbell will make his Penn State coaching debut in 66 days when the Nittany Lions take the field against Marshall at Beaver Stadium.
When Campbell made the shift from Iowa State to Penn State, a number of his former players and recruits followed. That includes the man who will wear No. 66 in 2026, Will Tompkins.
The redshirt freshman offensive lineman did not see any action for Iowa State in 2025, but brings good size (6’5, 311 pounds) with the frame to play offensive tackle. Tompkins was a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 34 offensive tackle back in the 2025 recruiting class.
Tompkins committed to the Lions back in early January and it will be interesting to see how much time he spends on the field during his redshirt freshman season.
That season starts in 66 days!
