The Washington Huskies added a commitment from one of the top in-state offensive linemen in the 2027 class on Wednesday when four-star Puyallup High School product Gecova Doyal announced his intentions to stay home.

At 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, Doyal is ranked as the nation's No. 359 overall prospect and No. 16 interior offensive lineman by the 247Sports Composite, and picked Jedd Fisch's program out of a final four that also included Oregon, UCLA, and Utah.

Doyal took official visits to all four programs, beginning with the Bruins on May 15, before checking out the Utes on May 29, and the Ducks on June 5, before rounding things out with the Huskies on June 19. For months, the battle for Doyal appeared like it would come down to Fisch and coach Dan Lanning, with the Huskies winning out over their arch-rivals.

On film, Doyal shows off the athleticism and footwork necessary to play tackle, but at his size, he may be a better fit along the interior of position coach Michael Switzer's unit as he continues to add weight to his frame thanks to his ability to play with leverage and drive opposing defensive linemen off their spots to create rushing lanes.

"Lacks desired height and frame length typically seen along the offensive line, but compensates with physical play style," 247Sports' Gabe Brooks wrote in his evaluation. "Flashes some engaging power and consistently plays with drive-blocking strength…Natural leverage aids in pad level and sudden pop at the point of attack…Functional athlete in pads with above average foot quickness."

With his pledge, the Huskies now hold commitments from five of the top seven in-state players in the 2027 class, per 247Sports' rankings, as he joins four-star defensive tackle Tevita Nonu, four-star wide receiver Braylon Pope, three-star tight end Zach Albright, and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams.
