SEC rival names LSU as the matchup he’s most excited for

For a while now, the rivalry between LSU and Ole Miss has slowly become one of the top ones to watch in the SEC. Whenever these two met, you knew it was going to be a game to remember, but the feeling around 2026 is that this game is at a whole new level.

Whenever a former head coach leaves one team to join another, and the two teams play, there is always a sense of revenge attached. The former team wants to show their former coach that he should have never left, but the new team wants to show why he left. This is where we are with LSU and Ole Miss, and the current starting QB for the Rebels, Trinidad Chambliss, cites Kiffin’s departure as the reason he is looking forward to the LSU matchup more than any other, per Wilson Alexander.

As I mentioned, these two teams already did not like each other, but the addition of Kiffin, other staff members, and players leaving Ole Miss for LSU has catapulted the rivalry to a different stratosphere.

Both teams have something to prove when they meet in September, and no matter what happens, it could be a season-defining game for these schools.
