Clemsonfootball’s 2027 recruiting class continues to stack up well nationally as the Tigers remain firmly in the mix among the country’s top programs.
The latest update from ESPN placed Clemson at No. 13 in its team recruiting rankings, a one-spot improvement after four-star defensive back Jayden Aparicio-Bailey announced his commitment. The Alabama native is ranked No. 210 overall by ESPN, while also checking in as the No. 15 safety nationally and the state’s No. 10 overall prospect.
The Tigers have built one of the deeper classes in the country. ESPN credits Clemson with 11 four-star commitments, tied for the ninth-most nationally, while eight members of the class are included in the outlet’s SC Next 300 rankings. Clemson has also assembled 24 total commitments, tied for 17th among FBS programs at this point in the cycle.
Although Clemson does not currently have an ESPN five-star pledge, it is hardly alone. Notre Dame, Miami, Oklahoma, Michigan, Auburn, Ole Miss and LSU are also without a five-star commitment despite each boasting at least 10 four-star prospects. Texas A&M, Ohio State, Texas and Texas Tech currently hold 70 percent of ESPN’s five-star commitments, with the Aggies leading the overall team rankings.
Quarterback Kharim Hughley and defensive end Desmond Malpress remain the highest-rated members of Clemson’s class in ESPN’s evaluations, each receiving an overall grade of 82. The Tigers’ most recent ESPN five-star signee remains linebacker Sammy Brown, who signed with the program as part of the 2024 class.

The strong showing isn’t limited to ESPN’s rankings. Clemson also sits No. 13 in the 247Sports Composite, is ranked No. 11 by 247Sports’ own evaluations and checks in at No. 15 in the Rivals Composite. Among ACC programs, only Miami ranks ahead of Clemson in ESPN’s latest list, while Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Cal also landed inside the top 25.
