ESPN ranks Georgia's schedule as the easiest in the SEC

ESPN has updated their annual Football Power Index (FPI) rankings and projects that the Southeastern Conference (SEC) has 16 of the 20 hardest schedules in the country including the entire top-seven. The SEC has 12 of the of top-25 teams in the FPI and every SEC team is ranked in the top-50.

ESPN ranks the Georgia Bulldogs’ schedule as the easiest in the SEC. Georgia still has the No. 20 toughest schedule in the country. The Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart have a difficult 2026 schedule, which includes 10 Power Four opponents (nine SEC games and the annual rivalry game against Georgia Tech).

FPI views that Georgia has just one game against a top-five team in the SEC (at Alabama). The Bulldogs do play the sixth- and seventh-best teams in the SEC in Oklahoma and Ole Miss respectively. FPI gives Georgia a 10.9% chance of going undefeated during the regular season, which is the highest in the SEC. It also gives Georgia a 22.9% chance of winning the conference.

The Bulldogs are among the favorites to win the SEC for a third consecutive year. Georgia has made seven of the last eight SEC championships and won three of the last four.
