Army gets commitment from athletic Florida QB Onrique Archie

Winter Park (Fla.) quarterback Onrique Archie recently gave a verbal commitment to Army.

The Black Knights get a 6-foot-2, 185-lb prospect who reports a 4.67 forty and had over 1,400 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior.

He had an offer from Navy along with several other programs, but had a good relationship with the staff at Army.

“I connected with Coach Burks, Coach Worley and the head coach, Coach Monken,” Archie said. “and “I really liked how they handled situations, how honest they were to me, and how they were able to answer a lot of my questions about the program.”

He also sees a good fit within Army’s offense and the off-field opportunities.

“I liked the school. I had a great visit there and their program has a lot of great opportunities for me especially with me being a great athlete at the quarterback position,” Archie said.

With his commitment made, Archie can now focus on his senior season and what he hopes to accomplish this fall.

“My goals for senior year are have a deep playoff run with my team and compete for a state title have over 30 touchdowns and over 3,000 yards and be a great leader,” Archie said.
