Ohio State football delivered one huge July recruiting win for 2028 by grabbing five-star wide receiver Jett Harrison. But the Buckeyes turned back to topping off the 2027 College Football Recruiting class Saturday. This time swooping up four-star defensive lineman Karlos May over Auburn and Georgia.

May confirmed his commitment decision via Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder was one of the top remaining prospects available regardless of position group.

May hands OSU head coach Ryan Day some massive trench help for down the road. The star of Ramsay High in Birmingham, Alabama also heads to Columbus as the state’s No. 2 overall prospect per Rivals.

Buckeyes defensive line coach Larry Johnson helps deliver the massive win on the trail for the Big Ten heavyweight. May even told On3/Rivals recruiting insider Chad Simmons “this is home” when diving into the reason behind his decision.

“As soon as I got down there, I knew I was going to pick up and retain a lot of good information that would help me be successful. That visit was it for me,” May told Simmons. “I think I knew pretty much the second day after my official visit. I woke up that Sunday morning and just felt like, ‘Man, yeah, this is home.’”

He will team with another prized commit for the 2027 class at Ohio State. The Buckeyes landed five-star Markus Fakatou from Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California to help close out June. Fakatou also turned down an offer from Georgia for the Buckeyes.
